SaveOnVoIP.com helps you
compare the top providers of this new technology. Shopping for Voice
over Internet Protocol--which allows you to make telephone calls using
a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular or analog phone
line--can be somewhat overwhelming. SaveOnVoIP.com eliminates that
confusion with this comparison chart, objective opinions and a thorough
FAQ. There are well over 100 providers of VoIP, but many companies
entering this growing industry do not appear to be financially stable.
The listed companies provide good customer support, dependable service,
are financially stable and work the best when they are carried over
an existing broadband Internet connection. |

Our Opinion:
Lingo is one of the best choices for VoIP consumers who call
frequently within the United States, Canada, or Western
Europe. Lingo's home plan is $19.95 a month and that includes
unlimited long distance minutes to anywhere in the USA, Canada,
and 17 countries in Western Europe. The calling features
included in the plan are: Voicemail, CallerID, Call Forwarding,
Call Waiting, 3 Way Calling, etc. A very nice feature
of Lingo's plan is that Lingo provides two phone numbers
per account for a small fee. The first phone number
is in the area code of your choice, and the second number called
a Universal Phone Number.

Our Opinion: Packet 8 is a great service based on the pricing and the service that you receive. The first month is Free. The low monthly rate of $19.99 seems to be the best balance for unlimited local and long distance and great customer service. Standard features include: Voicemail, CallerID, Call Forwarding, 3 Way Calling, Call Waiting, Speed Dialing, and more. The customer service has been shown to be very responsive. For an extrae fee Packet 8 offers 911 Emergency service which has now been mandated by the FCC. When you have an emergency you can be sure your call will get through.

Our Opinion: AT&T’s new VOIP service service is OK
but rather expensive. It cost $29.99 per month for the unlimited
local and long distance calling plan. Vonage and Packet 8
offer more features and cost less. CallVantage's international
rates are high compared to other carriers. You are apparently
paying more for the AT&T name and getting a lot less.
